Gorilla Camp started out as a follow on of style from my portraits incorporating different emotions and personalities into one image. As the silver back stands solid and firm we we in his mind his female partner and the aggression he will show to protect her. In the process of creating this image I felt the furry arm, initially in orange, look very much a feather boa and so an element or irony and humour was introduced to show the more sensitive side of the misunderstood silver back.
