Roar started out as another image similar in style to my previous portraits, overlapping the faces around the eye to connect them together in their different expressions. It was in this image I dared to let go and took my work to another layer, deconstructing an already satisfactory image to create energy and emotion. To enable this I let go of the paintbush and used my finger to reduce rigid accuracy.
